What a surprisingly tough course to play. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to play and of course I jumped at the opportunity to play a new course. I walked into it thinking I was going to shoot the round of my life. Not the case. This course is now referred to as my "kryptonite".
It's a municipal course that offers some of the best greens, when they're in good shape, on a public course in Massachusetts. Large, quick and undulating, you'll be lucky to 2 putt your way to a good round.
Another great feature that I noticed was the distinct contrast between the front nine and back nine. The front plays like a somewhat shorter, wooded course with the ability to put up a good score, while the back plays like a tight, water surrounded, TPC course. If you haven't put up a good number on the front nine than you better shoot the 9 of your life on the back to salvage a respectful round.
I would definitely recommend this course. If I remember correctly there are no tee times and it is based on a first come first serve basis. The discounts are great for Braintree residents and is reasonable priced for all others. This is a course that will surely test your skills and will most likely have you shaking your head at how many balls you've lost when the round is complete.
