All I have to say is "WOW". And I'm not talkin' about whip'em out Wednesday, gentlemen. This course is an absolute dream! The layout is truly breath-taking, taking advantage of natural features, such as glacially formed kettles and kames that dot the southeastern Massachusetts landscape. Jack was certainly not F'ing around when he designed this place.
The fairways and greens are kept in pristine condition, and the course plays fairly long, partly due to amount of elevation change. The fairways are peppered with bunkers and greens are well defended. Though a joy to play, it was also a challenge at slope of 131 from the blues.
The amenities at Pinehills live up to their reputation. Cart and range balls come with the greens fee, and the clubhouse has a unique feel that mixes Carolinian architecture with the familiarity of a Cape Cod exterior. I found the course to be well worth the price of admission, especailly at $80 until Memorial Day. All-in-all, two enthusiastic thumbs up, and one the finest public courses in the state!
