One of the best layouts with the worst conditions in Massachusetts. This Donald Ross municipal course in Canton has the potential to be one of the premier courses in the state, but due to the volume of golfers that play here, it makes it impossible to maintain any sort of reasonable condition.
I always laugh when I think that Tiger Woods once played this course and imagine what he must have thought. The conditions here are not good and you'd be lucky to play the course when all 18 holes are actually being used. The pace of play is notoriously slow and you should absolutely plan on being there for about 6 hours during peak time.
Surprisingly though, I enjoy playing this course. The layout in itself is worth the $17 to play. The have a great junior golf program up there and I've actually played in a couple myself with great memories.
One of my favorite holes is the 18th where you and your buddies can pull out the driver and see who can drive the green. Most of the time the end result is a lost ball, but either way it gives you something to laugh about as you finish your round.
