Safe to say, this is one of my favorite courses to play. Not because if it's difficulty, condition, or amenities,
but because of shear enjoyment value. This course gets a lot of play, but is still able to maintain above
average playing conditions.
This is one of the greatest risk/reward courses around, you can literally hit driver off every tee(minus the par 3's).
There are 6 par 3's and a couple of quirky holes. You can shoot the round of your life here, or completely self
destruct. The greens can be fast at times and if you happen to play the day after the Norfolk county classic, you'll
need to make sure tee shot and iron is strategically placed in order to access the pins.
You can play the tips for a more challenging round or step up a tee or two for a more enjoyable day. This course
will definitely challenge how confident you are in your driving game. From the 1st hole, that is drivable with OB to
the left, you will find yourself grinding on almost every tee shot.
Be warned that if you decide to play here during twilight, there's usually a guy who will come around and
take the pins well before it gets dark out. I hate that guy...
From the 2 or 3 drivable holes to the back to back par 5's on 15 and 16, this one the more fun
courses to play. It's built on a big hill so there are a lot of uphill, downhill and sidehill shots. It will require
you to play draws and fades and low stingers. I would say this course is a must for most golfers. I would
not recommend it for the novice, but certainly would encourage them to give it a shot at some point. I shot
my best round ever here, and look forward to playing here again. It's cheap, convenient and a lot of fun.
